He was a man with a HUGE heart. I learned much from Jimmy. He was my friend. I miss him.

Papa Jimmy was a beloved treasure to me. He was my adopted grandpa. Through the years he has blessed me with his wisdom and his counsel. To say I will miss him on this side of heaven is not enough. I will forever thank God for the time we got to spend together and the loving way in which he treated me. Papa, I love you and I so appreciate all that you gave to this girl as she learned to become a true woman of God.

"Brother Guinn" was our Pastor in the 60's, our dear friend, a wonderful man of God! He and his precious wife were a wonderful testimony to all...we just rec'd word of his passing, so dear God, please  bless Connie and Mike! Our kids surely appreciated Mike and Connie when they were teenagers...

He always said at offering time, "Gentlemen, serve your people."

"Shine your shoes and wear a smile, shine your shoes and you'll be in style" is a greeting that Jimmy always gave us at the door the many times we had coffee together. We were blessed to live next to Jim and Allyne for 9 going on 10 years and there are many times that come to mind. One that comes to mind is when Jimmy first moved in as a retired pastor he was kind of wondering "what now". Allyne saw our two boys outside one day and said those two boys are your ministry now. She had no idea how true that was. Both of my boys have gone through some deep waters as has our family and Jim and Allyne have been there to pray for us and see us through. Both our boys love and serve Jesus today, Jim and Allyne were a large part of that. We thank God for putting them next to us for the last 10 years. God bless you Jimmy, home at last.

Leland Walters, our son Lucas Stull and I met Pastor Jimmy in 1992 at Valley West Christian Church, in Madera. We actually met and befriended his son, our Big Brother, Michael first. 
Leland & I (Linda) had been away from church for many years. We clung to every word that Pastor Jimmy, Roger and Dixie spoke. Our hearts were renewed and our lives were changed. 
They not only taught the Divine Love of God, but they lived it in front of us. 
Pastor Jimmy became like a second Papa to us. He and Allyne treated us like their own children. 
“God knew what he was doing from the very beginning. He decided from the outset to shape the lives of those who love him along the same lines as the life of his Son.
After God made that decision of what his children should be like, he followed it up by calling people by name. After he called Jimmy by name, he set him on a solid basis with himself. And then, after getting him established, he stayed with Jimmy to the end, gloriously completing what he had begun”. ~ Romans 8:29-30 (the Message)
Pastor Jimmy taught us to experience life on God's terms instead of our own. Thank you Papa! We will always cherish the lessons that you taught us to seek first from God. We love you and miss you forever. We will see you again someday…And oh what a day that will be !

I'm an agnostic and met Michael & Papa 40+ years ago in Ventura, CA. I'm a better man for having been blessed to do so.

When i last left them in Ventura on 9-22, Papa ( i actually called him "Poppy" - don't ask me why) Poppy asked me to join him in the most amazing prayer. I held his hand and literally felt the power of God prior to leaving.

I love Poppy and his son, and am a better person for having met them. I am now no longer an agnostic. 

Thanks to Papa Jimmy, Michael & their extended families for EVERYTHING you've done for me. I love you all more than words could ever say.

Pastor Guinness was my Pastor and friend in Madera during the years we had teenagers plus the church going through a building program. I witness  him practicing his message of Agape Love many times. He was truly loved as he loved others. Praise God for allowing our life's paths to cross.

Papa Guinn your passing thru Heaven's Gates early this week is one of joy for you and your loved ones there. Ones who waited many years for your arrival. To know you were greeted by our Lord and Savior and your family and friends with open arms, give us a peace. It won't be long until we will all be joining you for those of us who are missing and remembering you. You became our Papa not long after you became our pastor in Coalinga. You taught us God's love by your acceptance and actions. We hold our memories of you close in our hearts as we do our other family members. You and Alliene will be always remembered and treasured. What an amazing man! I know he is resting in piece. I never liked jelly beans so he always had a special stash of candy for me! He will always hold a special place in my heart!

It is so sweet to know that Reverend Guinn is basking in our Savior's love.

My condolences,

I am saddened to hear of Brother Guinn's passing. He was a wonderful person, with a wonderful smile.  I still refer to some of the lessons he taught and messages he delivered when he was pastor at the Assembly of God Church in Fillmore.  My prayers are with the family.

Pastor Guinn was really my first pastor growing up in Coalinga, California.  I have never had pastor like him since.  His love of God, life, and his congregation is unmatched.  He was my "prayer partner" and helped me through the toughest times of my life, including the loss of my best friend at a very young age.  I cannot imagine growing up without him in my life.  I love him dearly and will miss him, but I know he is now where he was always destined to be, praising God in Heaven.

I only knew "Pastor Jimmy" briefly but I instantly knew he loved Jesus and everyone else. But I played my CD of that happy hymn that went "some fine day....I will fly away" and was happy for him.

I am blessed to have known Jimmy. He was a faithful servant of the Lord Jesus Christ and a great friend. Jimmy, you will be missed!

You were more than a neighbor to us!  Thank you for all you planted in our lives.  Forever in our hearts!

God has taken home a special person and that's where Jimmy wants to be. Praise the Lord for his life. He will be missed. When I think of him, there is nothing but love in my heart. Thank you, God for this wonderful man. He served you well sharing God's love to all he came in contact with. God bless his family, his church families, and comfort them all.

I met Pastor Jimmy after he retired and moved to Ventura. I was a pastor in Ventura in those days, I would visit with Him at his home from time time because he had once been the pastor of a friend of mine. Jimmy would tell me stories about how God changed him into an Agape preacher.

 He learned to love the hippies when he pastored in Filmore in the days when hippies were flooding into the Ventura area. When the deacons of his church demanded he he get them out of the church because the were not dressed properly, he chose to love them instead. 

He told me after that experience he would always preach God's love for us, in us and through us!  Jimmy taught me more about Agape (divine love) then I ever learned in college training for ministry or in grad school. 

I admired Jimmy and his wife for their simple lifestyle and pure contentment living in the love of God here on earth. I would say that Jimmy and his wife Allyne had their priorities strait! First they loved God and trusted God completely,  they also loved their family so much, more then the things of this world and they were gracious with everyone they encountered. They lived life fully and they lived life well!  

He is basking in this Agape Love right now! The love of God we try to describe and so often fall short explaining is where Jimmy has moved to, He is with his beloved wife who had gone ahead of him, yes they are basking in warmth of God's glorious love right now! 

I would love to hear Jimmy describe what he is right now experiencing; however I will have to wait for my own appointed day!  Goodbye Jimmy, thanks for everything, thanks for helping me become an Agape preacher, I will see you one day on the other side of the Crystal Sea.

My heart is sad, but we will see u in heaven !!!!!   I loved ur preaching, it really touched my life!!!  U are gonna be greatly missed!!!!

Pastor Guinn helped and loved me through a difficult time some 25 years ago. He counseled me and treated me like I was his own daughter. He baptized my son, gave another his first Bible and dedicated our daughter when she was born. He also helped to officiate the memorial service when our dear Heather passed away. I am thankful to have been a part of his and Allynes family.

A great pastor! I was honored to work with him as a youth pastor. A true shepherd and the message of his life was agape love. Well done thy good and faithful servant...
