Rita Marie Chavez

She was born on July 11, 1936 in Santa Paula, CA, the daughter of the late Manuel Preciado and Sabina Brunel Preciado.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Manuel Preciado and Sabina Brunel Preciado, and her sister, Alicia Preciado.

She is survived by her siblings, William and Abby Preciado, Jessie and Art Lopez, Helen and Roy Crockett, Julia Preciado, Dolores and Ruben Tovar, Rosie and Frank Luna, and Ernie Preciado; children, Kenny and Susan Chavez, Robin and Cory Chavez, and Eddie Chavez; grandchildren, Brandt and Alisha Chavez, Sabrina Ruiz, Lauren Sahli, Eddie Chavez, Alicia Chavez, and Nicholas Chavez; great grandchildren, Jacob and Madison Ruiz, Joshua Chavez, and Sixto and Lyla Chavez.

Rita worked at Santa Paula High School for over 20 years. She was very generous and giving to her community and the students she worked with at Santa Paula High School.

She was a member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church. She traveled extensively throughout Europe, Mexico, Hawaii and loved going to Las Vegas.
