Our beloved mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, Rosalie D. Salazar, went to a better place as an angel who now sits in the merciful throne with our Lord Jesus Christ on Friday, March 11, 2022. She was 87 years old.
We would like to share with all of you a little about the extraordinary woman we had the privilege of calling our mom and her religious beliefs. She believed in the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who died for our sins, and that someday she would be with her loved ones in eternal life.
Rosalie was born January 2, 1935 to Maria Torres and Jose M. Daniel in Buckeye, Arizona. She was a very giving and loving person who gave her all to anyone that needed help, even if she didn't know you. She didn't have an easy life as she was the oldest of all the siblings and helped her dad raise her sisters.
She worked various jobs through the years, fell in love, married our dad, and had 8 amazing children, 2 of who sadly passed as infants. She loved her job as she could take her grandkids with her despite them arguing over who's turn it was to sit on her little blue chair and write little notes to her asking, "Can we spend the night, yes or no? Circle one, ok." Her last job was with the City of Santa Paula and became a homemaker years after.
Everyone who knew Rosalie knew of her love for various types of music while cooking or cleaning but as kids, we remember one group in particular that she would listen to, CCR (Creedence Clearwater Revival). Whether inside the house with her or playing outside in the yard, we would hear Mom singing along to songs like “Have You Ever Seen The Rain”, “Born on the Bayou", and "Down on the Corner".
Our mom was a woman of few words but we never doubted or questioned anything she did. She had a heart of gold and wasn't a person who asked for much as she was a simple woman who was very independent and strong willed.
Some of our mom's accomplishments in life was being able to raise her children and grandchildren in the best way she could and always thanking the Lord. She would like for us to never forget to trust in our Lord and thank him for all of his blessings daily while here on Earth.
Her fondest memories included being together with her sisters, her parents, and her uncle Raymond.
One of her greatest inspirations in her life was to see all of her children's, grandchildren's, and family's accomplishments and their dreams and goals in life achieved.
It's comforting knowing that our mom is now resting in Heaven with everyone she loves and is watching over us all. It is now our turn to give them the love and respect they deserve as well as return to them the love and affection they poured onto us. We are thankful for the time the Lord gave us to spend with our mom these past few months. We know she was at peace, she knew she was loved, and would be taken care of. She has the other half of our hearts that no other will ever have. We'll be patiently waiting until we can once again walk along side by side, hand in hand, and share one another's new stories, encounters, and memories. We love you to the moon and back and miss you already Mom.❤
She was preceded in death by her parents, Maria Torres and Jose M. Daniel; her husband, Joe Castro Salazar; her daughters, Linda Salazar and Josie Salazar; her grandson, Richard Ramirez; and her sister, Margaret Salas.
Rosalie is survived by her children, Felix (Laura) Salazar, Gilbert (Leticia) Salazar, Mary (Ray) Gonzales, and Rosalie Garcia; 19+ grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; and sisters, Stella Ramos, Irene Drennan, Rachel Lopez, Lupe Juarez, and Mary Helen Diaz.
