
Dr. Ann Stallings Hutchinson Wilson - went to her heavenly home on May 10th. She was born May 11, 1941 in Sumter County, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her loving father, Raymond S. Stallings. She is survived by her loving mother, Sigrid M. Stallings; her brother, Leon Stallings; and her loving sister-in-law, Alice Stallings. She is also survived by her three devoted nieces, Deana (Donny) Vester, Ronda (Kenny) Stacey, and Lisa (Buddy) Turner. Other survivors included six great-nieces, one great-nephew, dear friends, and Siggy, her tiny toy poodle. Ms. Wilson had a career in education that spanned 36 years. She received a B.S. degree in 1962, from Livingston University with majors in Physical Science and Math; in 1969, a M.S. degree from the University of Mississippi in Chemistry and Geology and a PhD in 1973 in Education Research, Statistics, and Education Administration. Ann taught eight years at Baldwin Co. High School, Satsuma High School in Mobile Co., and Tuscaloosa Jr. High in Tuscaloosa City. She also taught Statistics and Research Techniques as adjunct faculty at Troy State University and Alabama State University. Ms. Wilson worked with the State Department of Education from 1972 until her 1998 retirement and served in the following positions: Fiscal Officer, Assistant Director Adminis-tration of Financial Ser-vices, Assistant Director Division of Vocational Edu-cation, and Director Child Nutrition Program. On a national level, she served as an advisor to the National Center for Educational Statistics on State and Local Vocational Education Fi-nance Procedures. Ann's favorite jobs were teaching adult ladies classes and directing the Home Bound Ministry at Ridgecrest Bap-tist Church in Montgomery. She was proud to have been an active member of College Park Baptist Church and was very grateful for the prayers and support shown to her by her Pastor, Mike Bedford, Sunday school teacher, Jane Brock, and loving class members. Ann was loved by many and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home in Saraland on Saturday, May 14, 2011, beginning at 9 a.m. with services immediately following in the funeral home chapel at 10 a.m. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. at Siloam Cemetery in Sumter County with Bumpers Funeral Home directing. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Siloam Cemetery Asso-ciation or the College Park Baptist Church Building Fund. .
