Betty Jean Huggins

Betty Matthews Huggins - entered into the presence of the Lord March 28, 2011. Born May 3, 1932. She was a native of Chilton County and a resident of Eight Mile, AL. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a homemaker who loved the Lord and spent her life serving others. She surrounded her family with love and spent many years sitting with and caring for the elderly.She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse Lee Matthews and Frances Collum Matthews; brothers, Raymond Thomas Matthews and Bobby Lee Matthews; and sister, Margaret Robinson. She is survived by her husband, Carl Webster Huggins; sons, Terry Lynn Huggins (Brenda) and John Thomas Huggins (Karen); daughter, Carla Suzanne Cobb (Jason); grandchildren, James Westley Huggins (Sheena), Ashley Nicole Huggins, Lauren Yvonne Huggins, Thomas Anthony Huggins, Kaitlin Elizabeth Huggins; great-grandchild, Kadience Machelle Huggins; brothers and sisters, Wayne Matthews (Charlotte), Sue Norton, Harold Matthews, Gail Dixon (Ronald), Roger Matthews, Linda Matthews and Janice Maddox; sister-in-law, Myrna Matthews; brother-in-law, Robert Robinson; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home in Saraland on Thursday, March 31, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 30, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
