Margaret Elaine Gomillion – a 77 year-old native of McKenzie, Alabama and resident of Wilmer passed away peacefully on April 15, 2025. Elaine was a 1967 graduate of Vigor High School where she was a member of the Glee Club . She went on to build a successful career as an accountant with McInnis Tax & Accounting, where she worked diligently for over 25 years. Elaine’s faith played a central role in her life. She was a devoted member of Georgetown Assembly of God, where she actively participated in the weekly ladies class. Her church family held a special place in her heart, and she found strength and fellowship within that community..
She was a beloved wife, sister and aunt. In Elaine’s free time, she enjoyed gardening and landscaping and was known for her beautiful yard. Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, Emory Piggott and Roxie Foley; siblings, Merle Gunter, Barbara Butler, Greely Piggott and Donald Piggott; and husband, Rufus Lamon Gomillion. She is survived by her step-daughter, Deborah Gomillion, as well as loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Those who knew Elaine will remember her quick wit and great sense of humor. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
A memorial service honoring Elaine’s life will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at Radney Funeral Home located at 1200 Industrial Parkway in Saraland, Alabama. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by services at 11:00 a.m. A graveside service will take place later that afternoon at 2:00 p.m. in McKenzie, Alabama.
