

Ernest L. Campbell, Sr. – A native of Summerdale, AL and a resident of Chunchula, AL died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Saturday, July 16, 2011. Mr. Campbell served in the US Navy during WWII and the Korean War. He retired from Civil Service after 31 years. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Anna Lou Modena Campbell; mother, Dotsie Hastings; father, Samuel Campbell; two sisters and two brothers. Survivors include his loving wife, Diane E. Campbell; one son, Ernie L. Campbell, Jr.; five step-children, Ron Osborne, Jr., John Osborne, Travis Osborne, DeAnne Sanders and Randy Osborne; one sister, Ina Shaw; one brother, Wesley Hastings; two grandchildren, Heidi Morton and Eli Campbell; ten step-grandchildren, Christopher, Elizabeth, James, Matthew and Ann Marie Osborne, Sara Frances, Olivia and Emma Clark, Scott and Daniel Osborne; four great-grandchildren, Jillian Campbell, Holland Morton, Campbell Morton and Mac Campbell; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Thursday, July 21, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home in Saraland. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Valhalla Memorial Gardens. The family would like to give special thanks to Wiregreass Hospice.
