

Ernestine “Ernie” Bryant Reece – a 79 year-old former resident of Satsuma and current resident of Saraland passed away on Monday, February 17, 2014. She was a 1952 graduate of Vigor High School and a lifelong member of Shiloh Baptist Church. Known for her green thumb, she loved working in her yard, especially flower gardening. She always put her family first and was an avid Alabama Crimson Tide fan. Mrs. Reece was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Edward Clinton Reece; daughter, Terry Jean Reece; parents, James Artis and Bessie Bentley Bryant; and sister, Nell Stokes. She is survived by four daughters, Dorothy Reece Kennedy (Mike), Debbie Reece Barnes (Ronnie), Lisa Reece Cooner (Bobby), and Rhonda Reece Allen (Jason); one Godson, Jimmy Stokes; six beloved grandchildren, Heather Pickens, Will Barnes, Terry Barnes, Haley Cooner, Summerlyn Kennedy, and Courtney Cooner; two sisters, her twin, Earline Beahn (Harold), and Bonnie Genest (Eddie); many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home in Saraland on Friday, February 21, 2014, at 1 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 noon until the service hour. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, it was Mrs. Reece’s wish that donations be made to your church or favorite charity.
