Gene Timothy Garner

Gene T. Garner, Sr. – born October 6, 1940, in Plateau, AL passed away April 10, 2018, in Creola, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Effie Grissom Garner of Prichard; first wife, Nell Garner of Creola; second wife, Peggy Sue Garner of Satsuma; sister, Peggy Ann Garner of Monroeville; and grandson, Michael Wilkins of Gulf Shores. Mr. Garner is survived by his children: Gene Timothy Garner, Jr. of Creola, Angela “Sissy” Thompkins (Stella) of Satsuma, Danny Garner of Creola, Cathy Sue Mangum (Mack) of South Carolina, Jeannie Wilkins of Georgia, Mark Garner of Saraland, and Brandon Garner of Mobile; and brother, Fred Garner (Evelyn) of Magee, MS; 10 grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Graveside funeral services with military honors will be held in the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Monday, April 16, 2018, at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the DAV.
