George Morgan Mason

Mr. George Morgan Mason, age 83, longtime resident of Satsuma, AL, passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2018. He is preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Olivia Moorer Mason, sister, Martha Watson Broadus and brothers, Hugh Elmore Mason and Robert Moorer Mason. Mr. Mason served his country honorably in the United States Navy during the Korean Confict. He retired after 41 years of service with Scott Paper Company and was a member of First Baptist Church Satsuma. Mr. Mason was a member and Past Master of the H.E. Blackwell Masonic Lodge #899 and Scottish Rite of Mobile. Mr. Mason is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Sarah Elaine Headley Mason and children, Rhonda Mason, George “Buster” Mason (Sherene), Gerald “Gerry” Mason (Ann Marie) and Rachel E. “Beth” Mason. He is also survived by his sister, Elizabeth Purcell, sisters-in-law, Evelyn “Peggy” French Mason, Martha Headley, Hazel and Dayton Wimpee, grandchildren, Ryan Christopher (Bridgette) Mason, Matthew Bryan Mason, Thomas Brent Mason (Hannah), great-grandchildren; Mikala Bonner, Alex Mason, Maverick Colt Mason, nieces, nephews, other family and friends. He will be remembered by his family as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. The family would like to express their appreciation to their caregiver, Joanne Bozeman, staff of North Baldwin Infirmary and Community Hospice. Visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home-Saraland on Friday, February 23, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, February 24, 2018 beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery with a Masonic service.
