Hazel Cook Barton – age 86, native of Walker County, resident of Mobile County passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at a local health care facility. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mrs. Barton was a retired teacher with the Mobile County Public School System after 33 years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis A. Barton. She is survived by her daughter, Beth Carole Stuntz (Chuck); son, George Ellis Barton (Jo); two sisters, Betty Harbison and Shirley Twilley; one brother, Bobby Holsombeck; three grandchildren, Parker, Ginny and Brett Barton; two great-grandchildren, Mary Ellis Barton and Anna Kate Barton; and other relatives. Visitation will be Thursday, September 26, 2013 from 5-8 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home in Saraland. Graveside services and interment will be Saturday, September 28, 2013 at 2 p.m. in Sardis Cemetery, Jasper, AL.
