

Helen Dickson McDaniel, a native of Whistler, AL, age 88, left to join her soulmate, Ray J. McDaniel, in the presence of the Lord on June 21, 2016. Helen was born on December 12, 1927 and is the last survivor of eight siblings. Helen was a long time member of Myers Memorial Baptist Church. Helen was also preceded in death by her grandson, Joseph “Joey” Ray Summers. She is survived by her four daughters, JoAnn Carney (Gene), Cathy Rae Boutwell (Kenny), Sharon LaCoste (Robin), Debbie McKenzie (Steve); nine grandchildren, Ronnie Summers (Kaye), Chad Boutwell (Stacey), Amy Garrison, Robbie LaCoste (Heather Rose), Brett Boutwell (Amy), Jennifer Rutledge (Trent), Amanda Spruiell (Pope), Jeff McKenzie (Jamie), and Chase LaCoste (Heather); nineteen great-grandchildren; and one very special sister-in-law, Joyce ‘Sista” Cherry. Helen will be remembered as a loving, caring, and kind person, devoted wife and proud mother of four girls. She was a long time caregiver, 25 years, to her cousin Harold. The visitation will be held Friday, June 24, 2016, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home, Saraland. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Mobile Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will include: Ronnie Summers, Chad Boutwell, Robbie LaCoste, Brett Boutwell, Jeff McKenzie, and Chase LaCoste; and honorary pallbearers include: Trent Rutledge and Pope Spuiell.
