James Grady Mercier, Jr., passed away peacefully at Saad's Hospice August 15, 2021. He was 75 years old. James was born October 4, 1945 in Brookhaven, MS. He served his country honorably and proudly in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. During this time James received the National Defense Medal Service, Vietnam Service Medal and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.
James was a faithful member of Creola United Methodist Church and loved volunteering at the Home of Grace for Women, where he was known for his cheerful attitude and ability to fix almost anything. He also loved singing, James and his wife Sandra sang with "Harmony for Him", they loved singing gospel music at various places of ministry.
Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Sandra Jean (Sandy) Mercier, one sonJames Daryl (Dana) Mercier, grandson Grady Wayne Mercier, stepdaughter Rebecca (Willie) Wollschlager and granddaughters; Megan Sage and Amanda Katelyn Walker.
Graveside services are scheduled for Friday, August 20, 2021, 11:00AM at Forest lawn Memorial Park, 10000 Celeste Rd, Saraland, AL.
