Born August 16, 1921 passed away February 29, 2016, at home with his fam¬ily at his side. This was one blessed man; he would have been 95 years old on his next birthday. He served in the
U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1945, serving aboard the aircraft carrier U.S. Indepen¬dence as an aviation radio op¬erator, flying on TBF Avenger bomber-torpedo planes. After the war he worked for Mobile Marine Radio (WLO) and Exx¬on, he worked for Exxon for 20 years before he retired. After retirement he worked for Mas¬sachusetts Maritime and Texas A&M College at Galveston,
TX as a Radio Officer on their training ship Texas Clip¬per, finally retiring for good in 2007. He was also blessed in his life that he had mar¬ried two women who loved and spoiled him. He was pre¬ceded in death by his first wife Yvonne C. Morris, son Stephen R. (Skeeter) Morris, his parents, one sister, two brothers and two great grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Marie
A.L. Morris, sons Mike (Lin¬da) Morris, Tommy (Karen) Morris, John (Janet) Mor¬ris, stepson Joey Ludke and daughter, nephew Paul Ray (Sylvia) Morris that he felt was one of the sons and his beloved dachshunds Winston and CoCo. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 3 great great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, two sisters-in-law, Minnie (Don) Hamilton and Margaret (Leon) Gilmer. A million thanks to Captain Jaime Bourgeois of Texas A&M for all his friend¬ship towards Jimmy (known as Sparks to his shipmates) and to all his shipmates at Exxon. It meant so much to Jimmy and me.
