Joe Carey Mitchell

A celebration of life service for Joe Carey Mitchell will be held at Radney Funeral Home in Saraland, AL on Friday, March 4, 2016, with the family receiving friends from 10 a.m. until the 2 p.m. chapel service. Interment will follow in Wolf Ridge Cemetery.

Joe is a native of Georgia and a longtime resident of Satsuma, AL. He was an amazing husband, father, son, brother, and friend who lifted the spirits of all who met him. Joe is survived by his wife of 46 years, Regenia Dixon Mitchell; daughter, Carey Keith (John); grandson Joseph Keith; sisters-in-law, Colinda Mallon, Mareen Freeman, and Polly Stokley; sister, Linda Howell; brother, Michael Mitchell; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved granddaughter, whom he raised as his own, Jaimie Ashley Mitchell, and his parents, Elbert M. Mitchell and Clara Dyar Mitchell.

Joe loved all and was loved by all of his family and friends, and he will be sadly missed. Joe retired from Teledyne-Continental Motors as a head master electrician. His beloved dog, Roxi, is waiting at the back door for him. Rest In Peace Papa Joe.
