Mr. Joe Parmer - A native of Butler Co., AL and resident of Saraland for 50 years passed away Friday, September 10, 2010 at home. He was a member of the Carpenters Local #89 from 1973-1985. Mr. Parmer worked for Bemis Bag Company and retired from the City of Saraland. He was a current member of Blackwell Masonic Lodge. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Rosemary Parmer.
Survivors include his children, Terry L. Parmer, Tammy P. Goodell and Patricia P. McRoy; grandchildren, Kristy L. Goodell, Haylie M. Goodell, Angela N. McRoy and Joseph W. McRoy; brothers and sisters, Ruth Jordan, Thelma Hitson, Douglas Parmer, Donnette Brooks and Katherine Pitts; and many friends. Funeral services will be held Monday, September 13, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home in Saraland. Visitation will be Sunday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
