John Jesse Hattenstein

He was a lifelong resident of Chickasaw, Alabama. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Marsha Hattenstein; his sons Corey Hattenstein of West Union, South Carolina and Jeremy (Trina) Hattenstein of Crosby, Texas; one grandson, Ehren Hattenstein of Westminister, South Carolina; one brother, Leon (Carolyn) Hattenstein of Turnerville, Alabama; numerous aunts, nieces,nephews, cousins, and friends. John was an active Member of Destination Church in Saraland, Alabama where he attended the Trailblazers Sunday School Class, participated in the Men of Destination Class and was involved in the Greeter's Ministry. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with family. He had a gift for brightening spirits and encouraging others wherever he went. John retired from Mobile County Public School System with 18 years of service. The family will receive friends at 12 noon on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Radney Funeral Home-Saraland, The service will be held in the chapel at 2:00 pm.
