To be absent from the body is to be present with the lord 2 Corinthians 5:8 was a verse he often quoted, and there is no doubt that as of July 1st, 2024, he is present with the lord. Joseph Dwayne Enzor, Sr “Joe” was born to the late Mr. Joseph A Enzor and Mrs. Virginia Geraldine “Jewel” Enzor May 12, 1951.
He was a dedicated husband to his wife Barbara for 45 years (June 30), a loving father to his two children Joseph D Enzor, Jr (Heather) & Shannon M Landrum (Keith), a brother to Debra Parden (David), a loyal friend and neighbor, and the most dependable employee. He dedicated his life to the lord in 1997 in what began on his tractor in a pasture with a small town preacher who wouldn’t take his excuse of having to bush hog as an excuse to not allow God to begin drawing him in the doors of Creola Assembly of God church. From that handshake in a field with the promise of a Sunday morning visit on, it was a rarity not to see Joe standing at the end of the pew or isle at his beloved church. He served as deacon there for over 25 years. His knowledge and guidance has served many whether it be in leadership within his small town of Creola serving as City Councilman, his role as church deacon, his hard work and devotion in the construction industry for well over 50 years, the coaching of his children’s extracurricular activities, or his at-home projects dreamed up by his children and their spouses. Even in what became his last days he was still giving directives and “how-to’s” to his families projects. He was a man of many words, opinions, & values. His love for his wife was strong. Together they built a beautiful life and instilled many traditions and values within their children. He was stubborn & tough on the outside but a tender hearted giver on the inside which made up his beautiful character. However, when it came to his grandchildren (Kaeden Enzor, Carter Enzor, Zoe Landrum, Sawyer Landrum, & Brooks Landrum) he wasn’t known to say no. He was their biggest fan and support system. Even if having to attend virtually, he hardly ever missed a game or performance. There is no doubt that his life full of good deeds are being rewarded today. He will be missed by many, but we have the comfort of knowing that this is not our final goodbye and that we will be reunited one day.
Funeral services will be held from Free Life Church in Creola on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at 12 p.m. The family will receive friends at the church from 10 a.m. until the service hour. Interment will be in Creola Cemetery. Condolences may be offered at www.radneyfuneralhome-saraland.com.
