Born on June 3, 1948, Kenny lived a full life dedicated to his family and service to others.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Rhonda; daughter Kelly (Todd) Beasley; grandchildren Presley Kate and Brooks Dewitt Beasley; brothers Johnny (Ann) Young and Ernie (Bonnie) Young; sisters Dianne Schmitz and Janet (Harold) Hollinhead. He was preceded in death by his parents, J.B. and Lillian Young, and brothers-in-law, Gayle Schmitz and Johnny Stringfellow.
Kenny grew up in Chickasaw, Alabama, and was a 1966 graduate of Vigor High School. He proudly served our country as a United States Marine from 1968 to 1972 where he was a member of the MAG15 and 1st Marine Airwing (Rear) baseball teams in Japan as well as the MCAS Yuma Team in Yuma, AZ.
After his honorable discharge from the US Marine Corps, Kenny hired on with Mobile Fire-Rescue Department and retired after 34 years of service and countless trips across the country playing softball for the MFRD team.
Above all else, his greatest joy in life was his family and watching his grandchildren, Presley and Brooks, grow up. He never missed a dance recital or a baseball game and was their biggest supporter in every activity, always on the sideline with a kind word and gentle encouragement.
Kenny was a faithful member of Wilmer Baptist Church where he delivered meals to homebound members and served in the nursery and preschool departments. His faith in Jesus was humble and quiet, but had become the cornerstone of his life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but there is peace that comes with the assurance that he is with his Savior.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at Radney Funeral Home-Saraland, Alabama. Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home chapel beginning at 12:00 noon with Endel Lee, Austin Lovette and Robert Mitchell officiating and music provided by Cindy Ballard and Brad Lewis. Interment will be held at Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Spanish Fort, Alabama at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the preschool department at Wilmer Baptist Church.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jeff Beasley, Buddy Malone, Greg Singleton, Tim Stringfellow, Carlos Williams, Jason Wilson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Rick Bodiford, Rusty Dumas, John Vickery.
