LaVerne was born in Fordyce, Arkansas on Saturday, January 11, 1930. The first child of Rev. LC Garner and Thelma Lancaster Garner. She attended Fairview High School and was a very bright student who excelled in her studies. She met and married a wonderful man and celebrated 69 years of marriage.
LaVerne was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother who will be remembered and missed.She was active in Church and music was a big part of her life. She enjoyed many hobbies including multiple fish aquariums, growing many plants, orchids and African violets. She was a member of the Orchid Society in Mobile, Alabama.
Survivors include her children Dwayne, Janine and Lynette, daughter-in-law Dianne, son-in-law David and son-in-law Madison, Grandchildren Melissa, Mark (Jennifer), Nora (Tony), Michelle, Eric (Carmerin), Jessica ( Michael), great grandchildren, Nieces, nephews, family, friends and neighbors.
LaVerne was preceded in death by her husband Doyal, son Troy, grandson Brandon, her parents, brother Donald and brother Boyd.
Visitation will be at Radney Funeral Home 1200 Industrial Pkwy, Saraland, Alabama on Saturday November 2 from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. followed by a Memorial service and interment at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 10000 Celeste Road, Saraland, Alabama.
