Celebration of Life services for Lester "Roger" Champion Sr., 69, will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, August 9, 2019, at Radney Funeral Home, Saraland, Alabama with Bro. Charles Couey of Indian Springs Baptist Church officiating.
Interment will immediately follow on the grounds of Valhalla Memorial Gardens, Semmes, Alabama.
The family will be receiving guests for visitation from the hour of 10:00 AM until service time at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
Lester "Roger" Champion was born November 10, 1949, in Butler, Alabama to Lester C. Champion and Sue Champion Flint. "Roger" transitioned from this life on earth to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for eternity. He was a longtime resident of Semmes, Alabama. "Roger" served in the United States Marine Corp. and was employed at Mobile Paper Board for thirty-four dedicated years. He was a devoted grandfather, and known as Paw Paw Roger to many who loved him!
"Roger" was preceded in death by his father; Lester C. Champion, two brothers: Larry Champion, Kenny Champion, father-in-law; William Allen Faircloth and mother-in-law; Onita Price Faircloth.
Left with beautiful memories of "Roger" will be his beloved wife of forty-eight years; June Faircloth Champion, two sons: Lester Roger Champion, II "Rodney", Randall Allen Champion "Randy", four grandchildren: Kayla Champion Crawford and husband Brandon, Shelby Diane Champion, Cole Champion, Sierra Champion, four precious great grandchildren: Halli Crawford, Pearce Denmark, Brody Denmark, Lawson Denmark, his mother; Sue Champion Flint, two brothers: Ricky Champion, Scotty Champion, two sisters-in-law: Barbara Ledbetter and husband Dennis, Joy Alexander and husband J.R., one brother-in-law, Kirby G. Faircloth and wife Brenda, along with many extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
