

Levi Wilson McLendon – age 83, a long time resident of Saraland, AL, passed away on November 2, 2010 in a local hospital. Mr. McLendon was born in Clara, MS on Feb. 6, 1927. He served in the US Army from 1945-1946 and served with the Paratroopers from 1949-1952. Mr. McLendon received an Honorable Discharge from WWII and the Korean War. After returning from the service he was employed at L&N –CSX Railroad. He retired from CSX Railroad after 33 years. He was self employed during the same time at his auto-repair shop. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret; parents, John and Maggie Stevens McLendon; and brother, John (Ollie Leroy) McLendon. Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Ann (Larry) Gansz and Debbie Sue (Rickey) Lednum; three grandsons, Bryan Gansz, and Chad and Eric Lednum; sister, Murell Hoxie.; one niece, Maggie Sue Speed; special devoted companion, Dorothy Nell (Doll); extended family, Mike Corky, Josie, John and Melissa Teague; a host of other family members and friends. Mr. McLendon was a member of Fountain of Life Church in Saraland, AL for a number of years. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 4, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home in Saraland. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 12:00 noon. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
