

Lurlee Norma Brown - Born April 2, 1916 in Baileytown, AL and longtime resident of Chickasaw, AL died Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at the age of 97. She was a member of Chickasaw United Methodist Church and a member of the Order of Eastern Star. She was Mobile's first female bowling instructor at Central Bowling Lanes on Conception Street. Mrs. Brown received a Citation from President Franklin D. Roosevelt for her work with the American Red Cross during WWII.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Brown; and four sisters, Robbie Dean Cross, Marjorie Seaman, Louise Moore and Nellie Jo Locatto. She is survived by her loving daughters, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and other relatives. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home in Saraland. The family will receive friends beginning at 1 p.m. prior to services. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Red Cross or the Disabled American Veterans.
