Nelda Marie Buford

Nelda Marie Williams Buford – loving mother and grandmother, an 80 year-old lifelong resident of Georgetown passed away Thursday, October 20, 2011, surrounded by her loving family. She retired from Faith Academy after 20 years of service as an elementary teacher and was a longtime member of Georgetown Assembly of God. Mrs. Buford was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, Cary Buford, Sr., and daughter, Denise Daniels. She is survived by her sons, Doug Buford (Debbie) and Don Buford (Debbie); grandchildren, Ricky Buford (Tammy), Elizabeth Carpenter (Lynn), Doug Buford (Ashley), and Angie Buford; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Vaunell Buford and Kathryn O’Brien; brothers-in-law, Gene Buford (Sandi) and Bobby Buford; other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held from Georgetown Assembly of God on Saturday, October 22, 2011, at 10 a.m. The family will receive friends at Radney Funeral Home in Saraland on Friday, October 21, 2011, from 5-8 p.m. Interment will be in Byrd Memorial Cemetery.
