She is preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Douglas "Buddy" Slay; her parents, Luther Lewis and Etta V. Lewis; three siblings, Myrtle Croomes, Merline Perry, and Randy Lewis.
She is survived by her daughter, Diane Wilkinson, three grandsons, and their wives, Robert "Bo" Wilkinson (Miranda), Larry "Eddie" Wilkinson (Rachael) and Casey Wilkinson (Hope); 6 great-grandchildren, Robert Wilkinson, Tara Wells (Rylan), Douglas Wilkinson, Wyatt Wilkinson, Emily Wilkinson and Brooke Wilkinson; one great-great grandchild, Brianna Wilkinson; 3 siblings, Justine Prescott, Geraldine Holifield and James Lewis; nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family and friends.
Pearline, also lovingly known as Sister Slay or Nanny, was born on January 26, 1937 in Quitman, Mississippi. She was a minister's wife, a prayer warrior to many, and a loving mother and grandmother. Her life was devoted to serving the Lord and her family. Her life will be celebrated Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Radney's Funeral Home in Saraland, Alabama. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. with Celebration Services to follow, beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will immediately follow the service at Kushla Assembly of God.
