He was born October 15, 1935 to the late Charles and Reba Erwin.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Donette Fussell Erwin, his children: Pamela Erwin Stephens( Eddy) ; Danny Erwin( Lisa); Jenny Fussell; Mark Erwin ( Silvia); Amy Fussell Hollowell ( David) , his 10 grandchildren: Elizabeth Stephens; Ryan Stephens( Laura); Donald Stephens ( Megan); James Erwin ( Ashley); Ellen Erwin Talbot ( Philip); Emma Erwin; Sargent Erwin; Barton Erwin; Abby Hollowell ;Anna Hollowell; 1 great-grandchild: Florence Lee Stephens ; his brother Howard Erwin of Fairhope, Al. and his sister Bonnie Erwin Heldt of Atlanta, Texas.
Ralph was the Superintendent of Ryan-Walsh Stevedoring for most of his career.
