Robert H Conner

Robert H. Conner, a native of Clarke County, Mississippi a former resident of Choctaw County, Alabama and a longtime resident of Creola, Alabama, died on Friday September 14, 2012. He retired after 40 years of service at International Paper, he also had served in Korea in the U.S.Navy. Mr. Conner was a former Councilman in Creola and was a member of Creola First Baptist Church, a retired volunteer with Mobile Community Action, VP of IP Retirees & Chaplin of The Gulf Coast Opry.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Shelia Conner Agee. He is survived by his wife Barbara Justice Conner; 3 children, Mary (Ronnie) Dingman, Glenda Bailey, Glen (Vicki) Bailey; 11 grandchildren, Elisha (Sam) Burge, Misha Long, Kisha (Lee) Barkley, Lee Drake, Robert Amison, Shawn Amison, Clay Amison, Ashley Stone, Mickey Stennett, Adam Bailey, Kyle Bailey. Also survived by 3 sisters Hilda (Warren) DeSpain, Carol (Edward) Malone, Eva Conner, 1 brother John L (Katherine) Conner; Honorary Brother-In-Law James Ivy; 27 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home in Saraland on Monday September 17, 2012 at 2:00pm. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 pm Sunday, at the funeral home. Family request in lieu of flowers donations may be made to Creola First Baptist Church or The Gulf Coast Opry. Interment will be in Creola Cemetery
