Ron passed away on March 18, 2021 in his home in Wetumpka, AL. He was preceded in death by his parents, Helen and Jack Redding, brother Dennis James Redding and daughter Stephanie Jo Redding Andrews.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sara Ann Redding, his son Ronnie Redding, Jr. (Sandy), 4 grandchildren, Megan Bennett (Dalton), Makenzie Andrews, Peyton Jack and Katie Redding, 1 great-grandchild Stephanie Adeline Bennett, stepdaughter Melanie Ruppert, 2 step-grandchildren Jack and Anna Ruppert, 2 sisters, Brenda Roberts (Woodie) of Saraland, Betty Mosley (Earl) of Waynesboro, MS, brother, Ricky Leon Redding (Teresa) of Turnerville and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ron was a Vietnam Veteran who was a bulldozer operator for the Combat Engineers. He was in Vietnam during the 1968 Tet offensive.
Ron retired from Syngenta, Inc. after 8 years as a chemical operator and 20 ½ years as shift supervisor.
Ron was an experienced driver of 18 wheelers, charter buses and heavy equipment operator.
He was a born again child of God. He loved his family dearly. He was a disable Vet and was very proud to have been a patriotic veteran.
Visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home in Saraland on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be held at the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Spanish Fort, AL at 12:30 p.m. with military honors.
