His favorite pastime was fishing, camping, being around family and friends at the local racetracks.
He is preceded in death by his son, Russell Thomas and daughter, Sally Thomas. He is survived by his sons, Samuel Thomas Jr. and Richard Thomas Sr. (Lynn).
Visitation will be held on Saturday, Dec. 26, 2015 at Radney-Saraland Funeral Home from 12:30 pm until 2:30pm. A graveside service will be held at 3:00pm at Turnerville Cemetery.
The family wants to thank to the staff at WFG Veterans Home in Bay Minette and the hospice group for their excellent care, support, compassion and kindness.
