Thomas Esley Long Sr.

Mr. Thomas Esley Long, Sr., age 70, resident of Wilmer, AL, passed away on Tuesday August 23, 2016. He is preceded in death by his parents, E. D and Sarah Frances Pace Long, wife and mother of his children, Glenda Long, brother, Erby Dewayne Long and niece, Christian Ford. Mr. Long retired as a machine operator with International Paper Company after over 30 years of service. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing and especially riding horses. One of his favorite memories was his hunting trip to the Montana/Idaho Mountains. Mr. Long was a family man who loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was also proud that his five grandchildren went to college. Mr. Long is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Melba Mitton Long, his children; Bud Long and his wife Leigh Ann and Vicki Collier and her husband Jamie. He is also survived by his sister, Carol Ford, his five grandchildren, Jordan Collier and his wife Raissa, Logan Collier, Paityn Collier, Coty Long, Cailyn Long and great-grandson, Liam Collier. Visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home, Saraland, AL on Friday, August 26, 2016 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Celeste Rd., Saraland, Al.
