

Mrs. Willie “Tee” Calder – A native of Corbin, KY and longtime resident of Saraland, AL died Saturday, April 23, 2011 at home. She was a graduate of Eastern Kentucky State Teacher’s College. Mrs. Calder was an elementary school teacher who taught in Harlan and Whitley County in Kentucky and later retired from the Mobile County Public School System. She was a member of Saraland United Methodist Church. She was a very talented lady who was never too busy to listen and help others. Mrs. Calder enjoyed painting, ceramics, flowers, playing board games and keeping her bird feeders full. She was a generous and loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother, a lifelong friend to many and friend to anyone in need. She was preceded in death by her parents, White and Minnie Owens; and son, Robert Durand “Randy” Calder. Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Bruce A. Calder; three children, Jackie Brown, Ronald (Marie) Calder and Larry Calder, all of Saraland, AL; one brother, Richard (Tommie) Owens, Plymouth, MI; one sister, Jackie Lou Chick, Boca Raton, FL; four grandchildren, David (Angela) and Daniel (Kimberly) Brown, Kimberley and Alexander Calder; four great-grandchildren, Torrey, Adam, Dylan and Jenna Brown; nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 27, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home in Saraland. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Saraland United Methodist Church Early Learning Center.
