Winnie Armistead McLendon - a native of Clarke County, AL and a longtime resident of Saraland, AL passed away Monday, March 9, 2015. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and a wonderful southern lady who loved her church and family. She was a longtime member of Shelton Beach Road Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, William Royce McLendon; her son, John William McLendon; brothers and sisters, Ada Clyde Pugh, Ellis Armistead, Virginia Kearley and Delbert Armistead. Survivors include her daughter, Elizabeth (Chris) Wright; four grandchildren, Christopher, Collin, Colby and Carson Wright; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Graveside services and interment will be on Friday, March 13, 2015, at 10 a.m. in Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Center Pointe Assembly of God Church in Mobile, AL.
