Alan Lee Bovarnick

Alan is survived by his devoted wife, Rachel, with whom he shared a loving marriage filled with partnership, laughter, travel, and unwavering devotion. Together they built a beautiful life centered on family.

He was the cherished father of Marcia Cohen and her partner, Rani, and Leah Jacobs and her husband, Shlomo.

He was the proud grandfather of Shayna , Chaim, Ari (Tova), Chana (Shmuly), Srully, Esti, Beryl, Menachem, Mordy, and Emunah, and lovingly embraced Tayla and Avi. He was the joyful great-grandfather of Sara and Rosa. Nothing made him happier than seeing his family grow and celebrate life’s milestones.

Born and raised in Boston, he attended Boston Latin School and Bentley University. He proudly served in the Vietnam War and remained committed to supporting veterans throughout his life.

He was intelligent, strong, protective, generous, and deeply devoted to those he loved. His smile, presence, and steady love spoke volumes.

Family was everything to him, and he made sure we always knew it.

Funeral will be on Thursday, April 23rd at 1:30pm at Sarasota National Cemetery. Contact family for Shiva details.
