Born on December 26, 1926 in Thomasville, GA to Helen Burch Lewis and William Henry Lewis. Grew up in Petersburg, Virginia, had her own horse and a beloved dog and a family that was loving, encouraging and genuinely community focused. She pursued her education at St. Mary’s College where she received her Batchelor’s degree and worked as a schoolteacher for several years before marrying her first Husband, Richard James Dye and became a homemaker and socialite. After Richard passed she was blessed to meet and marry Dominic Mallardi where they spent their time entertaining, boating, golfing, traveling even in the private jet of a Billionaire going to Ireland and Europe to photograph that Billionaire’s properties for Dominic to return to Florida to paint for him. Such a truly grand and adventure filled life she had.
Above all, she cherished her role as mother, grandmother and great grandmother most. She was known for her beautiful smile, her being a fashionista and especially for her red lipstick which she wore all the way to the end. She loved to be the life of the party, could dance like a star which she did with Richard and Dan. Once widowed she danced a lot with many kind gents who found her dancing amazing when she would go out with family or friends. She had a generous heart never failing any of her family through ups and downs her strong faith in every one of her family members, never wavered. Sure, she worried like any mother or grandmother would do yet she carried a generous heart and always looked out for us all. Her home was a place of pride from her art of decorating and the magnificent antiques she had. She loved to gather friends and family close for parties, she even put on a luau. Quite the bridge player too. In later years she so enjoyed playing UNO with her son, Robert and his wife, Tami. It truly brought her joy. She was also a stand in Cub Scout Leader when asked as well.
She loved boating with Dan on his pontoon boat going up and down the St. Lucie River and the intracoastal as well as heading through the locks to Lake Okeechobee. When vacationing in Eagle River Wisconsin she just loved to get her son Bob and his friends to go and hunt crayfish.
Cherished and was proud of being a lifelong member of the DAR, Daughters of the American Revolution and at her passing she was a member of the Myakka, Florida Chapter.
