He was born on November 23, 1943, in Corning, Arkansas, to the late Carl T. Langdon Sr. and Roberta Edith Wilhelm Langdon.
Carl graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering and dedicated more than 50 years of service to Klockner Bartelt, where he built not only a long and successful career but also lifelong friendships. A scholarship was established in his name to support the future training of aspiring Engineers. In addition to his devotion to his family, he was deeply respected and admired in his profession, where his integrity and leadership inspired others.
Carl was active in his faith community, serving as a Deacon and Sunday School Director. He had a love of square dancing—both as a dancer and a caller—along with round dancing, woodworking, gardening, drawing, painting, photography, and writing poetry. Known for his perfectionist nature, he brought dedication and care to everything he pursued.
Carl was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara Arlene Merrill Langdon, and his son, Richard Carl Langdon. He is survived by his children: Jimmy Allen (Zena), Cindy Ann (JR), and Wendy Sue (Stepan).
He also leaves behind cherished grandchildren: Jacob, Cami (Andrew), Brandon, Taya, Jena (Jess), Joshua (Chelsea), Adam (Amber), and Amanda. His great-grandchildren—Benjamin, Valyria, Franklin, Reed, Levi, Bentley, Lillyanna, Anastasia, Elika, Thalia, Elijah, and Ethan—brought him endless pride and joy.
Carl is also survived by his brother, Fred Langdon, and his sister, Marsha Goodheart.
