

Carol was born in Clinton TN to Katie and Clifford Tindell on December 13, 1948. She earned an associate’s degree in English from Fort Wayne Bible College. She worked as a childcare worker for many years in her home and at The Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed cooking, reading, Sweating to the Oldies by Richard Simmons and butterfly and bird watching in her garden.
Carol is survived by her husband Lewey Rawlinson, brothers Larry Tindell, Gary Tindell, sister Brenda Tindell, son Matthew Rawlinson, daughter Melissa Shepherd, son in law Mark Shepherd, grandchildren Mitchell Shepherd, Casey Shepherd, Emily Shepherd, Jenny Shepherd, and Joshua Shepherd, and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces. She is preceded in death by her parents Clifford and Katie Tindell.
Carol was a shining example of resilience and love. She will be missed and remembered by many.
A memorial service will be held at Palms Memorial Park, 170 Honore Ave, Sarasota, FL 34232 on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Tyler Lapp of Chases Chance Ministries officiating. There will be a Celebration of Life Reception following the services from 3:00 to 5:00 PM and is open to all who wish to attend.
Carol will be laid to rest in the Sarasota National Cemetery in a closed service with family.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the nurses and patient care technicians of the Neuro Floor of Sarasota Memorial Hospital for their compassionate loving care of Carol in her final days here on Earth.
Carol loved her family with every ounce of her being. Even in illness, she held firm to her faith in Jesus, and is now walking those streets of gold.
