I was in the class of 1969 with “Charlie“, as we called him then. It was an outstanding class of young people.

He distinguished himself in military service, where many of our members, male and female, chose to begin their futures.  Those days in Rahway and in the USMC  set him on track to be the man his friends and family loved.

I have good memories of him. I am sure lots of others do, as well. A good guy.

I met Bo when I was 12 and he impressed me with his strength , carrying a window AC unit like I weighed almost nothing. Over the next few years he teased me un mercifully, calling me “Bertha Butt of the butt sisters”.
Her was the big brother, I never really wanted, back then.
However, If we ever needed anything, Bo was there. 
Way back, Pete and Claire were driving down to Florida from New Jersey to visit Marge and Bo, and broke down in the Carolinas. It was a Friday, and Bo had worked all day, but drove all night to pick us up (in a tiny town he’d been to before, of course) and tow our vehicle behind his van all the way to Florida. He didn’t want us getting stuck in small small Podunk town.  Whenever he was needed over the next 50+ years since, he was always there for us.

 He was truly a brother to Claire and Pete. He may not have been a blood relative, but in every other sense of the word, he was a brother, indeed. Bo, you are irreplaceable, we will miss you forever, but you will always remain our Brother in our hearts.


Bo, Thanks for being here for us through it all!  You've fed us dozens of gourmet holiday meals, we watched you (and cringed) while you ate super spicey food,  and made us laugh at your "appropriate" politial incorrectness,   the family has “coined” a few of your very colorfully descriptive phrases, you chauffeured  us to infinity and back, delivered goods to every corner of Sarasota we would soon be buying, before you retired, you and Marge entertained countless scores of people at Christmas-time with your one-of-a-kind decorated "Gingerbread" home. 

The list goes on... you regularly visited dozens of homeowners in your neighborhood, and was dubbed the "Mayor of Colonial Oaks",  your stories while driving for Roadway were always fascinating, sometimes hilarious, and often unbelievable. You were such a diamond in the rough.  And you took such good care of your family, helping your children and grandchildren whenever needed.

 Of course, we remember all the times you laughed 'til you cried, as friends, froughamily, and neighbors were the butt of one joke or another. But you were always willing to help out the neighbors , even if  they drove you nuts... more stories!
Bo,  You were truely “a diamond in the . “
