Charles Lewis Shaffer (Charlie) 62, of Sarasota, never met a stranger and people responded to his easy going manner and warm smile. He loved his family, friends, the beach, Florida State football, and the Tampa Bay Bucs and is missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by sons Joshua and Derek Shaffer ; grandsons, Zachary and Blake ; ex-wife, Patricia Kitchen ; sister, Sally Wolfe ; nephew, Charles Wolfe ; niece, Kimberly Wallenius ; and long-time companion and best friend , Carla Rice.
A celebration of life will take place in June.
