

Clyde went to Otway High School, Otway, OH, Manatee Community College, University of Florida, University of South Florida, receiving a Master's Degree in Philosophy, and served in the US Army during Korean conflict. He was the Director of Facilities Maintenance School Board of Sarasota County.
Clyde loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed discussing Philosophy, politics and current events, reading and listening to Blues music. He had a dry sense of humor and loved to tell stories about his life, family and adventures. He liked to cook and especially enjoyed going out to dinner with loved ones. Clyde owned a pool hall in the 1970's and was an accomplished player. He also enjoyed working out at the gym, watching the Olympics and he played basketball in High School. He lived his life according to the tenets of logic.

Forrester Thompson, children: Donald Forrester (Deborah), Michael Forrester (Shannon, deceased), Tammy Powell (Barney, deceased), Donna Knorr, grandchildren: Derek Forrester (Shae), Christopher Forrester (deceased), Krystal Forrester (Chuck), Theresa (Derek) Delong, Devin Robinson (Chelsey), William Knorr III (Aubren), Kelsey Wood, great grandchildren: Nycole Harrison, Jace Delong, Jorah Delong, Aubrey Robinson, Denver Robinson, Dorothea Knorr, Maverick Robinson, Uncle Willie Platzer (deceased), Aunt Hazel Platzer, Bill Platzer (deceased), Jerry Platzer, Linda Sue Evans, Teresa Platzer Gillette, Sharon Platzer-Malone.
A gathering for Clyde will be held Saturday, February 24, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Robert Toale and Sons Funeral Home at Palms Memorial Park, 170 Honore Ave, Sarasota, FL 34232, followed by a memorial service from 11:00.
