Dorothy J (Detweiler) Miller, age 86 of Sarasota, Florida, formerly of Hartville Ohio, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 17, 2025, surrounded by her family in the comfort of her home.
She was born in Hartville, Ohio on November 23, 1938 to the late William J. Detweiler and Ada (Shrock) Detweiler.
She was preceded in death by her mother, father, brothers, Billy and Loren.
She worked many years as a caregiver and was a blessing to all that she cared for. She took great joy in being in the kitchen preparing a meal for her family and spending time with them was very special to her. She loved her Church family and her many friends.
She is survived by her son, Mike and wife Mabel, her daughter, Terri; grandchildren, Lance and fiance', Ashley, Melissa and husband, Chris, Michelle and husband, Tate; great grandchildren, Jude, Joelle and Jett; her brothers, Bob, Wayne and Ed, sisters, Ellen, Arlene and husband, Jake, Marie and husband, Glenn, Mary Louise and husband, Walter.
A visitation for Dorothy will be held Saturday, May 24, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Sarasota Community Church, 4041 Bahia Vista St, Sarasota, FL 342322421. The funeral service will start at 10:00 AM at the church. Burial will follow at Bethel Mennonite Cemetery, 2985 Bethel Lane, Sarasota, FL 34240.
