Erich H. Feierabend, 85, of Sarasota, FL, formerly of Cleveland, OH passed away on February 6, 2013. A private service with military honors will be held at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Road 72, Sarasota, FL 34241 on Feb. 18 at 9:30 am. A memorial gathering will follow the service from 11 am – 2 pm at the family’s home, 4789 Harvest Bend Rd., Sarasota, FL 34235. For more information, email [email protected].
Survivors include his loving wife of 64 years, Phyllis; two daughters, Dianne Truka and Summer (Greg) Frey; grandchildren, Marc Truka, Brett (Kathryn) Truka, Erin (Joe) Dolan, Randy (Mavis) Frey and Aimee Kindred; and great grandchild, Emilee Kindred.
Erich was admired by everyone who knew him for his honesty, integrity and humility. He served as Staff Sergeant in the US Air force during World War II. He was a graduate of John Carroll University, Cleveland, OH. Erich achieved a very successful career at Abex Corporation retiring as Executive Vice President. He also worked as a business consultant, traveling to Mexico, Europe and Asia. In his leisure, he enjoyed playing golf, gardening and spending time with his family and friends. He was a kind, loving and dedicated father, grandfather and friend. We love him dearly and will continue to cherish the memories.
