Glen Howard Reid, 95, of Sarasota passed away peacefully on Monday, August 23, 2021. Howard was born August 22, 1926 in Oneco, Florida to Thomas and Stella Reid and was a lifelong resident of Sarasota-Bradenton. Howard was a well known block mason in the area and continued to lay block until the age of 80.
He is predeceased by his son Darrell Glen Reid, by five sisters, Bernice Pauline, Ollie Mae, Dorothy Lee, Myrtle Joan and Betty Ruth, and by one brother, Thomas Dewey Reid Jr.
He is survived by the love of his life Eunice, brother Robert Wayne Reid, grandchildren Elizabeth Gragg and her husband Joseph, Matthew Glen Reid, and Shelby Reid, great grandchildren Marina, Savannah, Mason Glen Reid and Katelyn, great great grandchild Rosalia, and many nieces and nephews.
Howard, known to his family as Papa, was a thoughtful, kind and giving man with a great sense of humour and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, August 29, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Palms Memorial Park, 170 Honore Avenue Sarasota, FL. 34232
