

Harriette Ann Smith Angsten, age 84, of Sarasota, Florida passed away on Wednesday, September 3, 2025. She was born on July 15, 1941, in Gadsden, Alabama to the late Mary Ann Radford and Harry Edward Smith.
Harriette was a graduate of Clearwater High School, Central Florida Community College and Eckerd College. She was a member of the Unity Church in Bradenton, and an avid participant in The Course in Miracles.
She enjoyed reading and sewing, Scrabble, DIY YouTube projects, Hallmark movies, going to the French Café with her grandchildren, philosophical discussions with her sister, lunch outings with friends, and will be remembered as a kind, loving, and independent woman. A woman of deep faith, she devoted her life to the service of others.
Harriette was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Edward Sims: and sister, Ada Smith Gilmore.
She is survived by two sons, Brian Angsten (Shannon) of Sarasota, Florida and David Angsten (Cris) of Trenton, Georgia; grandchildren, Olivia, Harrison, John and Gabriella; and a sister, Martha Smith (Gary Hudson) of Ft. Myers, Florida.
Memorial donations in Harriette's memory may be made to the Ronald McDonald House in St. Petersburg, Florida, where she volunteered her time at 401 7th Avenue S. St. Petersburg, FL 33701.
