Helga Reisky

Helga Reisky, 82, of Sarasota, Florida, passed peacefully surrounded by her family on September 22, 2025. Helga was born in Hlucin, Czech Republic on October 27, 1942, the older child of Karel and Alzbeta Jaros. Helga graduated from Opava High School majoring in Economics in Opava, Czech Republic.

Helga married Randolf Reisky on April 11, 1964 in Hlucin, Czech Republic with whom she had her only son Martin. The family moved to Toronto, Canada in August 1968. Helga worked various jobs, including a factory job for an electronics company, an office job for an automotive parts company, and as a real estate agent. Her biggest passion was working with numbers. She held an accountant job at Continental Cosmetics in Toronto, Ontario where she was a valued employee for almost 20 years until she was 78 years old.

After her husband’s passing in 2019, Helga decided to move to Sarasota in October 2022 to be close to her son and his family. She loved spending time with them, especially her grandchildren Samantha and Cayman. She was such a proud “Nanny” as she liked to be called by them. She enjoyed getting to know Sarasota and the surrounding towns with us, whether it was by car or by boat. She loved being on the water. It gave her a sense of freedom and the peaceful escape from everyday life. Helga’s love for the arts was immense. She loved to dance, listen to classical music, and go to the theater. While living in Canada, she and her husband had subscriptions to many local theaters and concert halls. She continued her love for the arts in Sarasota by attending many productions at local theaters and performing halls.

Helga had a green thumb in the garden, but her hands also nurtured every person she knew. She was the light of every room she walked into and made friends everywhere she went. She kept in touch with friends and family from around the world, mainly the Czech Republic, Canada and Germany.

Helga is survived by her son Marty (Martina) Reisky, her grandchildren Samantha and Cayman, her brother Karel (Kristina) Jaros and his family, and her brother-in-law Ervin and his family. A memorial service will be held at the Robert Toale and Sons Funeral Home at Palms Memorial Park on October 25th, 2025 at 12:00PM.

A visitation will be held on October 25, 2025, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Robert Toale and Sons Funeral Home at Palms Memorial Park, located at 170 Honore Ave, Sarasota, FL 34232.

The funeral service will take place on October 25, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at the same location. A Reception will follow in the St. Armands room from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Robert Toale & Sons Funeral Home at Palms Memorial Park, 170 Honore Ave, Sarasota, FL 34232.

The family would like to thank everyone who touched Helga’s life. She will be missed tremendously.
