James Edward Johnson “Panhead Jimi”, age 62 of Englewood, FL passed away May 4, 2016. He was born in Point Pleasant, WV to James E. Johnson of Point Pleasant, WV and Ina Louise Rupe Johnson of Gallipolis, OH. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Kathleen A. Judd Johnson “Kit Kat”; two siblings, Craig Johnson and Linda Johnson of Sarasota, FL; and several nieces and one nephew. He was preceded in death by his sister, Debra Johnson (30 years old) of Corpus Christi, TX. Jim grew up in Sarasota where he was a graduate of Sarasota High School, Class of 1971. While in high school, Jim was an apprentice craftsman for Larry Danner’s Leather Shop. Out of high school, Jim was involved in the promotion of the first Folk-Rock Festival in Sarasota’s Island Park. He worked for the Communications Department for the Sarasota County School System and then moved on to work for Dave’s Sprinkler System for 30 years. Jim was a member of the Chain Driven Cowboys MC of Nokomis, FL. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Hoosier Bar in Osprey, FL on June 4, 2016.
