She was born in Pittsburgh, PA on January 23, 1931, and came to Sarasota in 1990 from East Greenwich, RI. She was preceded in death by two husbands, James V. Martin, who died in 1973 and Walter W. Kirk, who passed away in 2005. Jane was the last surviving, and sixth of nine children, of Robert and Harriet Klingensmith. She was a member of the Church of the Incarnation.
Survivors include four sons; Jim Martin (Veo) of Lake Forest, IL, Jerry Martin (Melanie) of Indianapolis, IN, Philip Martin of Sarasota and Richard Martin (Molly) of Lake Forest, IL; as well as 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
A service will be held at 9:30 am Thursday at the Church of the Incarnation. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to Meals on Wheels of Sarasota - http://mealsonwheelsofsarasota.org/donate/ Burial will be in Rhode Island.
