

Joanne was born on October 22nd, 1956, in Cameron County, Texas to parents Maurice and Florine (Kuna) Durio. Despite being born in Texas, she was raised in Missouri.
In 1994, Joanne met the love of her life, Italo Stella. In 1996, they married. She spent most of her adult life living within Sarasota County prior to settling in Lakewood Ranch, Florida.
Joanne was a very intelligent person. She used her intelligence to earn a master’s degree, which led her to her work as economist. Joanne found that her true passion and calling was to be a stay-at-home mom.
Joanne has been described as an excellent conversationalist. She was not one to shy away from controversial topics, such as politics.
Even though Joanne had the gift for great conversation, she also enjoyed her moments of quiet too. She enjoyed reading and taking long walks. Joanne also loved spending time with her orange Pomeranian, Peaches. Being a Florida resident most of her life, Joanne was an excellent swimmer. She even served as a lifeguard at Lido Beach. Being a devout Catholic, Joanne was a woman of great faith.
Joanne is survived by her husband of 30 years, Italo, and their loving daughters, Alexandra and Vanessa Stella.
Joanne was a beloved wife, mother, cherished daughter, aunt, sister, neighbor, and friend. She is gone too soon but never forgotten. The next time you wear pink, be sure to think of Joanne, as it was her favorite color.
