John M. Green, Jr., 84, of Sarasota, FL and formerly of Berwyn, PA, died at his home on November 17, 2012 after a long illness. John was a loving husband, father, and friend. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; his daughter, Katie; his sons, Mark, Matt, Mike, Tim and Jim. He is predeceased by his beautiful son, Christian. John was a professor of literature at Villanova University in Villanova, PA and was loved by all his students. He penned screenplays and short stories and was the recipient of many awards. He was an avid boater on the Chesapeake and Sarasota Bays and was very active in the US Coast Guard Auxiliary assisting numerous boaters in PA and NJ. John always helped anyone in need and spent years as a volunteer with the Philadelphia Committee to End Homelessness. Inurnment will be at Palms-Robarts Memorial Park, Sarasota, FL.
