

Born in Wilmington, OH on Jan. 9, 1942, to parents Naoma Gossett Prickett and J. Delmar Prickett, both deceased. He attended the local schools in Wilmington, OH. After high school graduation in 1960, Larry attended the Ohio State University, where he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. He was a licensed Professional Engineer in several states and a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers. He also held memberships in several engineering organizations for many years throughout his career.
Larry retired in 2003 as a partner from Barber & Hoffman, Inc. in Cleveland, OH, a structural engineering firm, after a 25-year career. He was the Project Engineer and Principal Designer for many structural engineering projects which included the Cleveland Clinic, VA Hospital, University Hospital, the Terminal Tower of Cleveland using the latest design techniques and was responsible for selection and specifying of materials to obtain the highest level of durability. Larry knew the building design well including stone, terra cotta, concrete, and brick masonry. With his experience beginning in 1965, he specialized in structural design, failure investigation, and contract
administration. Larry’s expertise in masonry design earned him local and national recognition. He investigated over 60 distressed masonry buildings from Maine to Texas.
Prior to joining Barber & Hoffman, Larry was associated with R.S. Fling in Columbus, OH, Champion Bridge Co in Wilmington, OH, and Chicago Bridge & Iron Co. in Greenville, PA.
In 2004, Larry and his wife, Dianne, then relocated to Florida where he enjoyed going to movies, the theatre, nice restaurants, the beach, and all that Florida has to offer.
Larry is survived by his loving wife, Dianne; his children, David of Texas, his daughter, Laura Quall (Matt) of Clovis, CA; and two grandchildren, Drew and Rylee. Also survived by bonus step-children, John Heidel (Kristina) of Richmond, VA; two bonus step-grandchildren, Anna and Grant; and Jeff Heidel of Olmsted Falls, OH.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers Daryl and John; and his sister, Joyce Richmond.
Larry was a wonderful, loving husband, a loving and proud father and grandfather. He enjoyed his visits to be with them over the years.
A casual memorial service was held at Robert Toale & Sons Funeral Home at Palms Memorial Park, on Wed, Nov. 17, 2021.
