Lawrence "Larry" Russell Sutherland

Larry was born on June 14, 1933 (Flag Day) in Fremont, Michigan to the late Ward and Thelma Sutherland.

Larry was a graduate of Stanton, Michigan High School, and Central Michigan University earning his B.S. in Accounting.

He married his beloved Carol Koen Sutherland on December 24, 1985.

Larry had a career in Field Auditing and teaching. He retired from the I.R.S. before opening up his own accounting business, Sutherland Tax Services.

Larry had many passions including fishing, basketball, baseball and football.

Preceded in death by his parents, Ward and Thelma; his brother, Rex Sutherland (Bonnie); and son, Jim Sutherland, Larry is survived by his loving wife, Carol Koen Sutherland; children, Lori Carter (Howard), daughter in law, Susan Sutherland, and Jesse Sunday (Beth); grandchildren, Travis Boals (Jackie), Meagan Sutherland (Kevin), Cameron Sutherland, Christian Sutherland (Kenzie), Emma Grace and Dylan Sunday; great grandchildren, Bradock and Brielle Boals, Caden Sutherland; and siblings, Audrey Larson, Sally Eales (Roger) and Howard Sutherland (Shirley).

A memorial service will be held at Lakewood Ranch Baptist Church, located at 5600 Deer Dr, Sarasota, FL 34240, United States, on December 22, 2025, from 12:30pm to 1:15 pm.

A committal service will follow at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Rd 72, Sarasota, FL 34241, United States, on December 22, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 2:30 pm.
